It is wonderful to have friends who are also as fortunate as we are at this time with our good fortune.

Particularly that $300 @ month for a/c this summer.

It is wonderful that we don't have to pay for any of these things in this big old House here in Maryland (utilities are paid for by the Center), considering it is as hot here as it is back home where you are.

The air here smells better though. if you stay away from the backs of the restaurants where their fishy garbage is collected.

Love, C.

bounty hunter

kind of you to refer to this disembodied internet presence as a friend.

Yesterday I was able to be in the moment (sorta) and feel truly grateful that I haven't been shot, flooded, had my house fall from great tremors and employed enough to have reasonable shelter and tastes of the bounty of life.

Funny typing that recapitulation of my yesterday reverie has taken the steam out of a work related rant I was about to let go. Fuck 'm. I'll save it for management and HR.

PS: fishy garbage sounds so good to me, smelly though it might be. A couple of years ago I worked a week or so in Towson, on the outskirts of Baltimore, and greatly enjoyed a soul food seafood place there. I've still got your Maryland food post held for savoring and possible comment.

Re: bounty hunter

I cut a rose from the bush outside the door a few minutes ago. It's now on a shelf by my desk where I can see it. And smell it.

Love, C.
