Yes, when in a group of people whom you don't know well, it's like, ermm... doesn't anyone else see how weird this is or am i just weird to to thinking i see what i see.

there was one more Balthus, **i think it was his** that has the young female looking out a window into a yard/garden. it's softer watery color (not sure, don't remember the exact medium used) and not so erotic/perverse/weird/subversive... maybe. or maybe i just didn't pick up on that one.

awwah, i shoulda taken more snap shots.

besides. have you seen the sandor exhibit yet? that was why i went and i'm going back to see it again. even thinking of spending $100 to get the full set of books of his photos.

Re: balthus/sandor

I like that Sandor set. My favorite is of the pastry chef mostly due to how the background looks. It gives perspective without it being exagerrated or forced

Re: balthus/sandor

that chef pic does rock. when i saw it on the museum wall i was hopping up and down with glee. that guy is so solidly there. a massive man (regardless of his height) and his white work clothes makes him pop out from his surroundings. interesting point about the depth being emphasized. we've got the floor boards and the stuff on the wall both going on. cool.
